Bio

Hailing from the great state of Texas (don’t sleep), Hisson is a product of the funk, soul, gospel, and jazz that makes up the music scene in Dallas. Though he grew up in a non-musical family, there has always been fondness for music. In high school, Hisson began to express his love for the craft by becoming a member of the A Cappella choir and as a percussionist in the marching band.

In the Fall of 2000, after graduating from Skyline High School, he moved to Houston to attend Texas Southern University. He began to pursue his degree in classical Music in the Spring of 2002 while learning and performing outside of his scholastic opportunities in other genres such as R&B, Soul, and Gospel, and Jazz from Be-bop to Fusion and everywhere in between.

On May 10, 2008, Hisson received his Bachelor of Arts degree in Music from Texas Southern University. Though he has been studying classical music for the last few years, he has been expanding his horizons though other genres. As a result, what your ears get to feast on is a sound that is real, heart filled, and adventurous. Hisson undoubtedly has a sound all his own and once you are blessed to be in the audience at one of his “experiences” (what he calls his concerts) you will no doubt be a believer.
